Frequently asked questions

Can I pay my booking in two instalments?

In our online-booking system, payment is made in full at the time of booking, either with online banking IDs or a credit card. Reservations made through the office will be paid with an advance and final invoice, if there is more than 2 months to arrival. When paying with two invoices, the amount of the advance payment is 30%.

Can we check-in earlier than 18:00?

You can check-in as soon as the cleaning is ready, all cabins will be ready by 18:00. You can inquire about the situation of your cottage from our office. During high season, guests will be sent a text message to the telephone number provided on the booking, when cabins are ready for check-in.

Can we stay in our cabin later than 10:00 on departure day?

Usually no, but you can inquire this from our office. Depending on the situation, we may be able to be flexible for a very good reason.

Do I have internet in the cabin?

You can check this from the cabin information from our online-booking system.

Does cabin rent include bedlinen and towels?

Normally no. However, in some cabins bed linen and towels are included in the rental price. If bed linen and towels are included, those are mentioned on your invoice / receipt.

Can I rent bed linen and towels?

Yes. The price of the linen set is 20 € and it includes a sheet, duvet cover, pillowcase and a large and small towel.

I have ordered bed linen set, are those delivered to the cabin?

Yes.

Can more people stay in the cabin than mentioned in the cabin description?

No. The number of people mentioned in the cabin description is the same as the number of beds in the cabin. This number of people must not be exceeded.

Can I bring a pet to the cottage?

A pet can be brought to the cabin, if it is allowed in the cabin information. You can check this from the cabin information from our online-booking system. Pets must be notified at the time of booking, we charge a pet fee of € 52 for pets.

What consumer goods can be found in the cabin?

The cabins are rented on a self-sufficient basis, guests must bring all consumer goods, including detergents and toilet paper.

Can we bring a caravan or tent or rental equipment such as a hot tube to the yard of the cabin?

The use of a tent and caravan or rental equipment such as hot tube on the land of the cabin is prohibited without a permission of Destination Lapland Oy.

Can I charge my electric car in the cabin?

The electric car may only be charged in a cabin, if there is a designated charging point, otherwise it is strictly forbidden. You can check from cabin information from our online-bookins system, if the cabin has a electric car charger.

Dishwasher/washing machine is not working?

Make sure that you have opened the water tap for the dishwasher/washing machine, there is special water tap to open for these machines. For dishwashers this tap is usually placed below the kitchen sink tap and for washing machines this tap is usually placed above the machine.

Where can we find fire woods?

Single standing cabins usually have either a separate firewood store or a storage room where the firewood is stored. The terraced and semi-detached cabins have normally a separate building in the yard of the cabins, where firewood is stored.

Where do I return the keys?

Cabin keys are returned to the place where you got them, either to our office or into the cabin keybox. Keys must not be left inside the cabin.

What measures should we take at the end of our holiday?

Final cleaning is included in each booking. However, the final cleaning does not include the following measures and you must do them yourself before you leave:

  • Fill the dishwasher and switch it on
  • Empty the refrigerator
  • If you have rented linen, collect the linen in one place. If the linens came with a blue return bag, put the linens in the bag.
  • Take the rubbish to the outside bin of the cabin. Empty bottles can be returned to bottle return points and Jounin Kauppa has a recycling point for glass, metal, cardboard and plastic waste.
  • Please also make sure that the windows and the fire damper are closed, the thermostats in the normal position, the machines and equipment are turned off and the door is carefully locked.
