Aurora Hunting and Star Gazing by Snowshoes

The Northern Lights take up a big part of the Lappish mythology and are still a phenomenon that keeps all of us dreaming. On this trip we will head out into the forest in search of the mystical “Aurora Borealis”. Our guide will lead us safely through the forest and to the best places to see them. We will have a break in a Laplander’s hut with campfire where we will enjoy a hot drink and bun. Our guide will tell us stories of the ancient past and beliefs of the Sámi people as well as the scientific explanation of this magical light phenomenon. In the case Northern Lights do not appear, we will still enjoy the peace and quiet of Lapland’s unique nature, which is worthwhile experiencing also in the evening.
