Canoeing

An enjoyable canoeing trip on the river Äkäs (Äkäsjoki). The tour is suitable for both beginners and more experienced paddlers. Before we go, you will get more familiar with the equipment and the paddling techniques. Along the route, the river is constantly flowing and contains small rapids as well as calm backwater areas. You may spot some fish near the surface, beavers’ nests and footprints and enjoy the entire river bend that flows steadily towards the massive river Muonionjoki. About halfway through, we will have a snack break.

Note: Swimming ability required. Clothing according to weather, an extra set of clothing for the unlikely case of falling to the river, water bottle.
