Destination Lapland | National Park
Destination Lapland is an adventure house in the Ylläs area, which offers not only high quality accommodation but also a variety of excellent activities. Coming here is like coming to another home. All’s well when the cabin’s well.
Several easy-access nature trails.The Kelloka Visitor Center is a 4 km long Varkaankuru Nature Trail, and Keskisenlaen’s circling Kiruna (12 km) and Seitapolku (9 km).In winter, the 1 km long Taigametsä winter trail circulates in the surroundings of Kellokka.Clockwork is also accessible from Aakenustunturi’s 17 km hiking trail, where you can explore fauna, geology and history.
Approximately 500 km of marked skiing trails, most of which are operated mechanically.
Canoeing and boating are suitable for Pallasjärvi, Äkäsjärvi and Äkäsjoki, which descends from Äkäsjärvi.
What can and should not be done in a national park?
Moving on foot, skiing, rowing and paddling: allowed except for restricted zones.
Open fire and camping: only allowed at designated locations. However, in the wilderness zone you can tent freely and fire is possible in the vicinity of waterways using dry twigs. Elsewhere, camping is permitted under the rights of everyone, if: no damage or harm to the owner of the land.
Fishing: Several waters where fishing is prohibited or restricted.There are also recreational fishing waters in and around the National Park, for which you need a recreational fishing permit.
Cycling: Prohibited on terrain and hiking trails.
Horse riding: subject to permission and only on designated routes.
Picking berries and mushrooms: allowed.Collection other plants is prohibited.
