Snowmobile Safari to Lake Äkäsjärvi and Äkäsmylly

Snowmobile

We first travel a good 50 kilometers by snowmobile across frozen marshes and along forest tracks to the Lake Äkäsjärvi, which is the source of the river flowing through village Äkäslompolo. During the day we make a stop in historical site of a small old mill, Äkäsmylly, and a small rapid, which is an ancient fishing and resting place and where signs of Stone Age life have been found. At Äkäsmylly we have a lunch in our private cosy old barn and also time to explore the surroundings by foot before heading back to Äkäslompolo. Single driving and previous snowmobile experience highly recommended due to long driving time.
